Description
Description
Craftsmanship & Materials – The Y-Rack is the perfect complement to Speck Gear's bikepacking bags. The rack is manufactured from precision steel tubing in a small factory in Zurich and is designed to withstand the highest loads while remaining lightweight. The design is pared down to the essentials, while the innovative, adjustable mounting system is highly stable. The rack is made of stainless chrome steel in stress areas and has a durable powder-coated finish. Thanks to the Y-Rack's integrated height adjustment, the center of gravity of the luggage can be optimally adjusted. There are also two threaded eyelets on the side struts for bottle or accessory mounts. These are also perfectly suited for the KLICKfix mount included in our Mini-Pack 06.
Alignment & Center of Gravity – Using a spirit level, you can adjust the angle of the rack platform to a maximum of -12° or align it parallel to the ground. Then bend the aluminum mounting struts into the desired shape for attachment to the seat stays.
Installation & Fork Mounting – To mount the Y-Rack on a fork, the fork must be equipped with threaded rack mounts near the dropouts and a central steerer tube hole. All Tubus/Racktime accessories are also compatible with Speck Gear racks. Your local bike shop will be happy to assist you with installation. Any questions? Go directly to the FAQ.

Compatibility
Compatibility
The Y-Rack is designed to be compatible with most bicycle frames that have the appropriate mounting points. Make sure your frame is suitable for installation. If you are unsure, please contact your bicycle manufacturer or take it to your bike shop to check compatibility. Your frame should be equipped with rack eyelets on the dropouts and upper seat stays. The Y-Rack is designed to mount on frames with dropouts that are 150 to 180 mm (5.9–7.1") wide.
Some frames do not have threaded eyelets on the dropouts and/or seat stays. In this case, you can use our seatstay pucks, the Tubus thru-axle adapter, or a seatpost clamp with a rack mount (such as the Bontrager Clamp-Fix), as well as the Tubus clamp adapter set. The latter is suitable exclusively for metal frames. The versions with seatstay pucks or thru-axle adapters and a rack mount on the seatpost clamp are also suitable for carbon frames, provided that the respective frame specifications are observed. On full-suspension bikes, the seatstay pucks can be used on the swingarm at any mounting point. Other manufacturers that offer compatible thru-axle adapters (M5 internal thread) and mounting pucks include Topeak (UDH-compatible and Old Man Mountain/Robert Axles. To mount the rack on the axle, you’ll need our Y-Rack thru-axle kit with the longer eye bolts. If you have any questions, your trusted bike shop can certainly help you.
Note: All Tubus/Racktime accessories also work with Speck Gear racks.
